Recovering ₦84.09 Million From a 90+ DPD Salary Loan Portfolio
An anonymized VIDA Recovery case study
A Nigerian salary lender deployed VIDA Recovery across 5,551 delinquent loan accounts with a combined outstanding value of ₦306.42 million.
Every account had already crossed 90 days past due before entering the recovery programme.
Over the first 12 months, VIDA Recovery returned ₦84,086,228.22 to the lender, representing 27.44% of the uploaded portfolio value.
Recovery remains ongoing across the outstanding balance.
Progress to date
- ₦306,424,728.05 in delinquent loans uploaded
- ₦84,086,228.22 recovered
- 27.44% of portfolio value recovered
- ₦222,338,499.83 outstanding
- 5,551 loan accounts under recovery
- 3,144 accounts with at least one successful recovery
- 1,914 accounts fully recovered

The Challenge
The lender was managing thousands of salary loans that had already moved beyond 90 days past due.
At this stage, the issue was no longer routine repayment follow-up. More than ₦306 million remained tied up across a large ageing portfolio, and the lender needed to recover as much of that capital as possible.
VIDA Recovery was deployed to work the portfolio at scale and maintain recovery activity across the outstanding accounts.
The Recovery Process
The lender uploaded the delinquent portfolio into VIDA Recovery using borrower information and existing repayment mandates.
VIDA Recovery carried out automated and manual recovery attempts across the accounts while tracking recovered amounts, outstanding balances and fully settled loans.
Recovery Progress After Twelve Months
Within the first 12 months, VIDA Recovery recovered ₦84,086,228.22, reducing the outstanding portfolio to ₦222,338,499.83.
Successful recoveries were recorded on 3,144 accounts, representing 56.64% of the uploaded portfolio.
Of those accounts, 1,914 were fully recovered, meaning 34.48% of all loans uploaded had been completely settled.
The programme remains active, with recovery efforts continuing across the remaining outstanding accounts.
Returning Capital From Aged Loans
The results show that loans crossing 90 days past due do not automatically become unrecoverable.
VIDA Recovery returned more than ₦84 million to the lender from an ageing salary loan portfolio, restored repayment activity across more than half of the uploaded accounts and fully resolved nearly 2,000 loans.
As recovery continues, additional payments will add to the capital already returned.
Recover More From Delinquent Loan Portfolios
VIDA Recovery helps financial institutions recover capital from overdue salary-backed, consumer and SME loans using existing borrower repayment mandates.
